Jeffrey Moose Gallery, now celebrating its 25th year, is hosting an exhibition of landscape photos by Dr. Richard St. Cyr throughout the month of February.
A reception will celebrate the opening of the show during First Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 7.
St. Cyr, also a family physician on Bainbridge Island, was educated at Columbia College and attended medical school at Saint Louis University.
He began showing his work in the early 2000s, initially concentrating on landscapes, and has exhibited extensively in San Francisco and Northern California as well as in China, winning several prizes and awards.
St. Cyr has a unique eye to capture quiet, contemplative scenes that cause the viewer to exhale and relax, gallery officials said. Natural textures and patterns wrap like a comforting blanket in his picture planes, giving one a sense of introspection and peace.
Jeffrey Moose Gallery is located at 181 Winslow Way East, Suite F, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday (also by appointment).
