Ovation! Musical Theatre knows a crowd-pleaser when it sees one. This is the group that brought Pirates of Penzance, Oklahoma, and the recent Fiddler, to Bainbridge.

This Saturday, it brings back one of its most popular productions for an encore – Saturday Night Safari: Singers Gone Wild!

The evening includes hors d’oeuvres from Spice Route restaurant, a dessert auction, complimentary champagne, cash bar and karaoke entertainment.

“Safari attire is optional,” said Tom Burt, president of Ovation!’s board of directors and the evening’s emcee. The event also features auction items such as unusual experiences and rare music industry memorabilia.

“We have a chance to drive a rare Tesla car, tickets to see Muse in Las Vegas and meet the band, a week at a vacation cottage in Palm Springs, Calif., passes to Seattle Opera closed dress rehearsals with tours and introductions, and much more,” said Laura Harrison, event chairperson.

Ovation! held a Saturday Safari Night in 2008 to celebrate its fifth birthday. This time, it’s just for the fun of it.

“We had a piano bar vibe and we had this organic, spontaneous entertainment,” said Marijane Milton, Ovation!’s publicity volunteer. “We’re going to recreate that atmosphere.”
