On Monday, the Kitsap Public Health District confirmed the fourth COVID-19 related death in Kitsap County since March.
The person was an older adult with underlying health conditions, district officials said.
The health district’s daily update confirmed infections of COVID-19 countywide total 547, with a positive test rate of just under 3 percent.
A total of 89 cases are considered “active” by the district, meaning they are “confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases … participating in daily monitoring.” Another 328 were categorized as “active contacts” or individuals determined to be close contacts of a lab-confirmed case and are participating in daily monitoring.
To date, 18,152 residents have tested negative for COVID-19. So far, 289 infections have been confirmed by the health district in July.
Of the 547 cases, 20 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 178 in Bremerton, 141 in Central Kitsap, 93 in North Kitsap and 115 in South Kitsap.

30 – 39: 92
40 – 49: 67
50 – 59: 78
60 – 69: 50
