The Bainbridge Island Community Pharmacy is receiving a limited number of first dose Pfizer vaccines from the Kitsap Public Health District this week and will also be offering second dose clinics this weekend at Commodore Options lower gym for those who received their first dose March 6-7.
First dose appointments will be open to people who qualify under Phase 1A; Phase 1B, Tier 1; and Phase 1B, Tier 2 on Saturday, March 27 at the Commodore clinic. Appointments are available now but could fill up quickly as “demand for vaccination remains very high and appointments are limited,” according to the city of Bainbridge Island.
The pharmacy earlier announced that critical workers are now eligible for vaccines at Commodore. People who work in jobs that require them to interact with the public (offices, retail, grocery stores, food services, etc.) are eligible to receive the vaccine, which includes city of Bainbridge Island staff.
The city, in partnership with the BI Fire Department and Bainbridge Prepares, is coordinating with BI Community Pharmacy on COVID vaccine distribution. As of March 22, this partnership has supported the administration of over 10,500 doses to Phase 1A, 1B.1 and 1B.2 individuals from Kitsap and surrounding counties.
Other vaccine providers on BI include Member Plus Family Health, Virginia Mason and the Safeway pharmacy. Now that Kitsap County is in Phase 3 of “Healthy Washington: Roadmap to Recovery,” plans are in the works to reopen city facilities on a limited basis in April.
