Richard “Tank” Lanning passed away on August 25, 2021 at his Port Orchard home, after a long illness. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan (McArdle) Lanning. Their three sons, Ken Lanning of Othello, Jim Lanning of Salt Lake City, and Adam Lanning of Port Orchard. Two Sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was employed with Bainbridge Island School District for 26 years. Retiring as Head Custodian at Commodore MS. For many years, “Tank” could be found under the Friday Night Lights at the B.I. Spartan’s Home Football Games, working as a Linesman. Tank also served as the time-keeper for the Spartan’s Varsity Basketball Team.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 19th, 5:30pm – 7:00 pm at That One Place Diner, Port Orchard, WA
