Ireland poet Geraldine Mills and Seattle poet Susan Rich will present an evening of poetry and global insights at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at Hyla Middle School, 7861 Bucklin Hill Rd. A book signing will follow the reading. The event is free and open to the public.
“Gateway Park” is the park being proposed and developed by citizen initiative on the vacant lot at the SW corner of Hwy. 305 and Winslow Way.
“Art, period – not just the end result, but the act of creating it, witnessing it, honoring and preserving it – we’ve been doing that as humans for a very long time,” architect Matthew Coates said. “On paper, that we as a community are committed to building this, goes a long way to say how important it is to us.”
