The Bloedel Reserve’s artists-in-residence — mother-daughter painters Chunbo Zhang and Yuzhi Bai — will share their work and demonstrate their techniques in two events this month.
From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, the duo will host “Art in the Garden,” which is included with regular admission. Guests can watch as Zhang and Bai paint a scene from the garden, or they are welcome to bring a sketchbook and work alongside the pair.
The following week, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16, the artists will lecture on Chinese brush painting. After the demonstration, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and try their hand at the ancient art.
Tickets for the event, which costs $7 for members and $22 for non-members, may be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2524628.
