Editor’s note: During the highly anticipated book signing by Jeff Kinney, author of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book series, at Eagle Harbor Book Company in downtown Winslow Wednesday, Nov. 20, junior Review correspondent Emma Yellowcalf, 9, sat down with the author for an exclusive interview.

Jeff Kinney’s here in town.
We start with trivia.
Jeff starts off with telling us that he lives on the other side of the country. The “cheese touch” came from Kinney’s church parking lot. There was a piece of cheese under a basketball hoop that no one would touch. Kinney has written 350 jokes. Kinney would like his next book to be orange.
This event has more than 50 kids missing school today.
So many people have read Kinney books. The time he spent writing these books is amazing. It takes Kinney nine months to write one book. The time these kids take from school is crazy.
Kinney meant his books to be for adults. The publisher told Kinney they should be for kids.
Kinney put his childhood in these books. Imitate other books, use your childhood and make a story.
Kinney had five events today. Kinney had one hour at the Eagle Harbor book store. Kinney celebrated by going to his next event. Let’s hope he comes back soon. Kinney’s hope is that he can write 10 books. Don’t forget to read his latest book: “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck.”
