To the editor:
I’m writing to invite everyone interested in taking action and making a difference in our community and our country to join Indivisible Bainbridge Island. We’re an advocacy group for good government and against the dangerous policies and actions of the Trump administration.
We have ongoing activities like Postcards on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at Harbour Pub, and Voices of the Majority, Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at OfficeXpats, upstairs at the Pavilion.
At these weekly events we write postcards, send faxes and make phone calls sharing our views with Members of Congress and encouraging Democratic voters to vote in special elections throughout the country. The meetings are a good place to learn about upcoming events and to plan future activities. Drop-ins welcome!
Upcoming advocacy activities include support for the New Green Deal to address climate change, green infrastructure and job creation and support for HR 1, the Democratic House bill to restore and promote the promise of democracy.
We also travel to Bremerton for meetings with Representative Kilmer’s staff to talk about issues facing the country and our region. And we join other Indivisible groups around the region for special events and to meet with staff for Senators Murray and Cantwell.
If folks want to “do something,” I encourage them to join Indivisible Bainbridge. We’re online at www.facebook.com/IndivisibleBI or www.indivisiblebainbridgeisland.org. Anyone can email us at info@IndivisibleBainbridgeIsland.org to sign up for weekly updates.
