To the editor:

I am writing to endorse the re-election of Kol Medina. He has been a steady, constant hand through the last several years of the council’s evolution.

City council members each bring strong opinions and personalities. I’ve watched Kol listen, observe and guide disparate opinions, keep conversations on point, empower some of his less-experienced colleagues with process and law, and maintain civility.

It’s a difficult enough job for one representative to express their own concerns, much less represent their constituents accurately — but to take all of that varying energy and keep it focused on a coherent solution is due to his dedication, hard work and capability. With his leadership the council has been remarkably effective and I feel his re-election will give needed continuity.

Mayor Kol Medina is our council’s experienced balance and we need to make sure he stays in city hall.
