To the editor:

In the League of Women Voters/Kitsap press release about the Feb. 15 program, “The Impact of the State Levy to Fund Education,” the program organizers did not mean to imply that state funding will replace all local school levies.

School districts will still be permitted to issue levies, but they will be limited in the amounts they can raise and limited as to what the levies can fund.

The League apologizes for any unintended misreading.
