Oh please, “green jobs”? These are government-make-work positions. The grant is our tax money.
If these audits were actually valuable, people would be paying for them with their own money. Instead, the federal government takes our tax money and “creates” jobs by paying for unneeded services.
And to top it off, we can count on the effort to be extraordinarily ineffective and wasteful.
Remember the federal weatherizing initiative – it supposedly created green jobs, too.
The Los Angeles Times editorial of Feb. 19, 2010, citing a GAO report, reported the program spent over $57,000 per home weatherized.
Bureaucrats love spending other people’s money so they can feel good about “saving the environment.”
