Girls lacrosse fundraiser proves very successful | Letters | Feb. 19

Thank you to the Bainbridge Island community for helping make the Bainbridge Island Girls Lacrosse First Annual Pancake Breakfast a rousing success!

More than 200 people attended Saturday to show their support for the fastest growing sport in the country. Such a positive turnout for a first-time event is indicative of the strength and dedication of our island’s athletic community.

The Bainbridge Island Girls Lacrosse Association currently fields competitive lacrosse teams and provides instructional clinics and camps for girls in grades 3 through 12. Funds raised at the breakfast will go directly to support our program in the form of scholarships, field and umpire fees, coach salaries and equipment.

Special thanks to the Rowden family and Bella Luna Pizzeria for their generous donation of food and drinks for the event. And thank you to our wonderful volunteer crew – we could not have done it without you. We’ll see you all next year!
