To the editor:

One night, catching a late night cab home from the ferry, I found myself sharing the ride with State Rep. Drew Hansen.

Hansen had had a long day — it was nearly midnight and he works as an attorney in addition to his job as state representative. But he was all questions about me — what did my business do? When he learned I did computer software consulting, despite the late hour, he was keen to talk about STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) education and any ideas I had for improving computer science education in the state.

I came away impressed with his energy and intelligence and so it was not surprising to read of his endorsement by the Seattle Times in part for his work on “meaningful bills to create jobs [and] improve STEM education.”

We are fortunate on Bainbridge to be represented in Olympia by Drew Hansen and I hope you will join me in voting for him in November.
