I just read that PCC (KidsUp! Parent Child Center) may be closing at the end of the month. For me this is a small tragedy; both my sons (2 and 4 years old) love going there. Not too long ago I attended a meeting they held to work out a way to avoid closure. I was horrified by their monthly operational costs.
Is there someone out there that could give them a hand in reducing those? An experienced accountant for non-profits? A grant writer?
I know it seems expensive to become a yearly member (about $300). You can get a membership to KiDiMu or the Seattle Aquarium for way less, but the benefits far outweigh the cost.
I don’t have to take the ferry, I never lose my sone, there are always kids their age to play with and they have all the toys you can imagine. You become a member of the Pavilion gym for no additional fee;. Twice a month I can go watch a movie and leave them there to their own movie and pizza night; and I can always be home for lunch.
It would be a shame if they close their doors. PCC is the perfect place for kids 5 and under to be.
