Grad Night

It is inspiring, humbling and heart-warming when you experience the strength of the community surrounding you. Just six weeks ago a group of parents realized that COVID restrictions had eased enough that a Grad Night Out for the BHS seniors was possible. Within that time enough community members stepped forward to turn that possibility into a reality.

The Grad Night Out Committee wants to thank the: senior parents who registered their kids in record time; business owners who generously donated gift cards and merchandise for prizes; school district for allowing us to use their property and tables to get kids checked-in; volunteers who worked efficiently and cheerfully to get the kids on buses; police who escorted the six-bus convoy to the ferry and got us through traffic lights; ferry workers who kept us appraised of the ferry status and helped us board/disembark swiftly; BISD teachers/staff and community members who sent messages of congratulations to the seniors; parent who made a beautiful movie out of those congratulatory messages; senior parents who stayed awake all night as chaperones; and parents who waited in the parking lot at 6:30 a.m. to make sure every graduate had a safe ride home.

Grad Night Out Would Not have been the incredible, meaningful event for the Class of 2021 without every person on this list. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for everything you have given these seniors. Thank you.
