To the editor:
I’d like to commend the Bainbridge Island Library for installing hearing assistance technology in their large conference room.
If you are a presenter, an event planner, or an attendee, please know that the library has headphones available for mild and moderate hearing loss and has looped the conference room so attendees with hearing aids and cochlear implants can use their T-coil switch to seamlessly connect to the sound system. Presenters should never assume their attendees can hear them clearly.
The library staff has been extremely helpful when I attend events and ask about the equipment.
Add my thanks to Rotary for supporting this wonderful technology to make the library accessible.
