Madrona offers thanks from the heart | Letters | Feb. 13

We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all who attended and contributed Madrona School’s 11th annual Hearts & Crafts Fair.

Our success this year vastly exceeded expectations and we could not have done it without the participation of the marvelous people who live in our community.

The smiling faces of children with glass jewels in hand, ran gleefully to the creative craft tables, and left with many treasures.

Adults were not far behind, pausing only to enjoy the entertainment provided by Madrona Early Childhood teachers; a marionette puppet play and songs performed by the lovely and talented Erin O’Hara; and music by Jennifer and David Hager, as well as the ensemble band “By & By.”

This year’s fair would not have been a grand success without the generosity of several community and outlying businesses.

We would like to acknowledge the following fine merchants for their kind donations of time, energy and resources: Shima Sushi, Dancing Rain Dolls, Harbour Public House, Pegasus Coffee and ProBuild.

In closing, thank you one and all. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Hearts and Crafts Fair, the Saturday before Valentine’s Day. It’s an island tradition.
