To the editor:
Across the country there is a movement by some towns or small cities to assert community say over corporations infringing on what a given community wishes.
It calls to mind the ongoing controversy over the planned, and now approved, of the unneeded development on the east side of High School Road and the highway.
Constrained by legalities, the city council has approved some version of development there.
If it was subject to a vote of the citizenry, what would the result be?
Legalities aside, although I hardly ever go to the so-called village, with all the new construction occurring in the core area of Winslow, it raises a real concern over water supply for the future.
One fact over downtown Winslow is the shortage of businesses to sell things we really need at times. Like the former hardware store.
