To the editor:

In the relatively short time that Anthony Oddo has lived on Bainbridge he’s acquired a better grasp of its issues than I have in 23.

He wasted no time getting involved in our community. I was initially skeptical when he wanted to join our BOSIA Health Care Committee as he was not a health care professional. But he proved himself a valuable member from the beginning.

He is smart, thoughtful, knowledgeable, curious about the history of issues and interested in all points of view (think affordable housing, Suzuki and the comprehensive plan). He is able to sort through complexity to make a highly reasoned decision. His background is in public policy and he’s worked extensively in organizations. He is a patient listener, calm and measured — exactly what our city council needs. (He might even make them laugh.) Best of all I would trust that he’d done his (my) homework for any decision he arrived at.
