To the editor:

The Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District has gone to huge efforts for children’s festivities at Battle Point Park this weekend. Congratulations on your hard work and well thought out planning.

However, why do you cave into political correctness by not naming the event an EASTER egg hunt? Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers has morphed into politically correct and secular “Island” Volunteer Caregivers. Now the park department thinks it can’t name the ages-old Easter egg hunt by its traditional name. Sad. Carefully weeding our public square of all Christian/religious influences does not bode well for our society.

Anyway, Happy Easter to you all! May you realize the blessings of the Risen Christ’s love for you and yours!
