Safeway’s program helps school fundraising | Letters | Nov. 5

A huge thank you to the employees at Safeway that have spent the past 10-plus days collecting receipts at the checkout stands to raise money for our schools.

The Bainbridge Schools Foundation received a phone call from Safeway’s assistant manager to tell us about this great program that was a part of the website www.escrip.com.

Ten percent of specific products that were purchased in August and September was being donated to our schools

Receipts needed to be collected and entered into the website with a code at the bottom of the receipt. This “money” was sitting on each customer’s account just waiting to be claimed by schools.

The phone call and the cooperation and enthusiasm of each person working at Safeway helped us collect receipts resulting in $5,850.12 for our schools.

If you were already signed up with www.escrip.com, your extra 10 percent will automatically go to the schools of your choice.

These receipts were from all the customers that are not signed up with escrip. Please take a moment and, using your Safeway Club Card, go to www.escrip.com and sign up. It’s a free program that gives back to our community.

I hope you will consider Bainbridge Schools Foundation as one of your organizations.

BSF benefits all of the schools by funding teacher training, teacher grants and this past year paying for 6.5 teacher salaries.

It’s an easy way for you to help raise money and you can designate up to three organizations.
