Between 1997 and 2003, total education spending per pupil increased fro $4,807 to $9,688, and of course is higher today. I had thought that the lottery was supposed to go for schools – so much for that.
We need to stop taxing the homeowner for schools. We can’t keep taxing people out of their homes. Some people just can’t afford another tax hike on their home. If all the people that voted “yes” on the levy last time just paid what they would have had to pay,
I’m sure that would have helped. Just because the levy fails doesn’t mean you can’t pay what you would have had to pay if it had passed.
I’m sure we can cut out more waste.
Any lawsuits against a teacher should be paid for by their union. After all, they are the ones that always protect them, and since the taxpayer has no say in the matter, make the unions responsible for teacher lawsuits.
The money for the schools should come out of the general fund, along with the fire and police departments.
Why not bring to a vote all the other things we may find unnecessary so we can see what your are really spending our money on.
I will vote no on the levy until I know that they have cut waste. And allow me to vote on the more unimportant issues that they don’t put up for a vote.
