I’ve known Val Tollefson for more than 20 years and enthusiastically support him for city council. He cares about his community and has shown he is willing to work for his community.

I first worked with Val on the Island’s Juvenile Diversion Board, meeting with kids and their parents to discuss misdemeanor offenses and assign consequences. He impressed me with his attentive listening, taking time to see the whole picture. As a result, his questions were reasoned and sensitive, often helping families face uncomfortable issues in a positive manner.

He has brought these talents to the Exclusion Memorial board. Again, he thinks before he speaks, helping focus discussion and clarify issues. His gentle good humor encourages others to offer their thoughts. He has a knack for simplifying difficult questions, leading to quick resolution.

I respect him as a leader and trust him as a friend, and encourage you to vote for him for city council.
