Trump has all the principles, believe me | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I respectfully disagree with Mr. Moriwaki’s comments on Mr. Trump. He does follow the 12 Boy Scout principles religiously.

He is so trustworthy. He promised and will deliver “great health care at a tiny fraction of the present cost”. His loyalty rivals that of Brutus, and no other president has been more helpful to his own financial interests.

What about being friendly? “I have a winning temperament … I always get even”. My kind of a man. And courteous? Courteous is his middle name. That’s how world leaders see him. That’s how his bankruptcies victims know him.

Is he kind? Of course, just ask Mr. Obama, Session, Rubio, Jeb Bush, Spicer, McCain (“I like people who weren’t captured”), Mrs. Clinton, the media folks (“enemy of the people”) and the legions who have been touched and uplifted by him. There is no question about his obedience. Obedience to and faith in the God of Mammon is his first principle.

What about being cheerful? He can be very cheerful when he proclaims his greatness, broadcasts other people’s insignificance, and he thrives on flattery and approval. Being thrifty with generousness and graciousness and competency and honesty are probably his most outstanding characteristics.

Braveness? OMG is he brave! He bravely faces the “single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history,” and bravely accepts the fact that the popular vote was stolen from him. Does “let there be an arms race” fall under wisdom or braveness?

Is Mr. Trump clean in thought, word and deed? Of course “I will make my tax return public, believe me” is coming up, believe me.

Reverent? Well, yes, like all narcissists, and autocrats. The Great Putin comes to mind.

On top of all these outstanding qualities, what would TV be without the daily Trump comedy?
