I enjoyed reading the article on Johansson Clark Real Estate and wanted to add an unsolicited customer testimonial.
Shortly before moving to our wonderful isle in 1977, I thought one of the best long-term investments I could make would be to buy land. I had no money but had a good job and had saved some money for a down payment.
I learned that a local bank would finance the purchase but would require me to build on the land within three years. That was not my plan. I therefore had to find land I could buy with the owner holding the paper.
On Nov. 19, 1977, I purchased, with very little down and a commitment to pay $300 a month, five acres on New Brooklyn from JJ Johansson and his father Jim. It was JJ’s first real estate sale. The owners were Dale Ferguson and John Coleman. Exactly 123 payments later, on Feb. 5, 1990, the name on the title was changed.
I have always appreciated Jim and JJ Johansson’s support in helping buy the land with terms of sale I could afford, a few thousand down and $300 a month.
