Wing Point has a pool and more | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor: One of your staff writers (Cecilia Garza) wrote an interesting article quoting John Jacobi, the owner of “the family-friendly shopping and community center” at Lynwood extensively. She suggested that we would have to wait for a community pool to be built at Lynwood (or jump off Point White!) before being able to really enjoy an outdoor community pool.

To the editor:

One of your staff writers (Cecilia Garza) wrote an interesting article quoting John Jacobi, the owner of “the family-friendly shopping and community center” at Lynwood extensively. She suggested that we would have to wait for a community pool to be built at Lynwood (or jump off Point White!) before being able to really enjoy an outdoor community pool.

Mr. Jacobi was quoted as saying that it is one-of-a-kind on Bainbridge.

Bainbridge does in fact have a kid-friendly outdoor pool in full sun, with a patio offering umbrellas, tables and sunbathing chairs. There are swimming lanes and shower facilities. Adults can also soak up the sun and enjoy cocktails and lunch. Kids can order snacks at the pool, splash in the cool water and play games on the manicured lawn. They celebrate summer birthdays and have barbecues there. Patrons pay a one-time initiation fee and monthly membership: exactly the same system as the planned Lynwood pool.

The differences are however significant:

It has a very popular diving board and basketball hoop. There are junior swim teams and professional staff coaching and supervising the pool. If your kids don’t feel like swimming, newly refinished tennis courts with extensively used Pickleball markings are just a few steps away. And when the sun goes down, the parents and grandparents can have a drink at the bar or enjoy dinner on the deck. It’s also centrally located, with ample parking very close to the ferry.

All these additional benefits are available right now!

They are being enjoyed by hundreds of Wing Point social members and their families who do not necessarily play golf!

Last night our social members enjoyed the first of our “Family night on the lawn” parties (every Wednesday night until the end of August), featuring a family-friendly dinner, lawn games, music, special activities, swimming, etc.

I hope your readers (and writers) will now be able to appreciate what Bainbridge already has to offer and not wait until next year to enjoy our summer!
