Bainbridge High School’s competitive cheer team recently won its division at the Wintercheer Classic competition at Skyline High School.
As a result, the team qualified for the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championships that will be held Feb. 4-5 at Battle Ground High School.
The Spartans won the Traditional Non-Tumbling Division with a score of 64.9.
A news release says it’s been two years since the team has been able to compete because of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, making the state qualification quite an achievement because many team members are new to c ompetition.
Tawnya Jackson is the coach. Cheerleaders are: Faith Bailey, Audrey Barnett, Holly Beermann, Olivia Berg, Claire Jackson, Audrey Jones, Elyse Lipton, Isabelle McLean, Charlotte Miller, Nevi Meyers, Cameron Smit and Easton Yellowcalf.
