Battle Point Astronomical Association presents ‘Cosmic Dust Bunnies’

Astronomer Dave Fong will take a last-minute look at the upcoming Aug. 21 eclipse at the planetarium show “Cosmic Dust Bunnies,” coming to the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.

Also at the show, astronomer Steve Ruhl will look at the latest developments in the search for exoplanets.

The show is free to members of the Battle Point Astronomical Association; $2 donation suggested for nonmembers, $5 for families.

While supplies last, the BPAA will have free eclipse glasses for attendees.

BPAstro Kids will discover all about the “Solar Eclipse” with Dr. Erica at 4 and 5 p.m.

If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes for public star gazing afterward.

The BPAA is a nonprofit amateur astronomy organization that operates the Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House at Battle Point Park.
