This weekend marks National Mulled Wine Day, National Hug a G.I. Day, National Cheese Doodle Day, and National Dentist Day. Hopefully you can find a good way to celebrate these essential holidays below.
The Throw Away Economy film series debuts tonight at the Lynwood Theater. The Girls of Summer will kick off their first pick of the month, “The Salesman,” at 7 p.m. Have time to kill? Drop into Suzanne Maurice Wine Bar across the street, where Girls of Summer spokeswoman Tova Gannanna will be hanging out from 6 p.m. to take your questions.
Friday, your choices are plenty: downtown’s monthly art walk, BHS Battle of the Bands (at the LGI, begins at 5 p.m.) and Island Rock Gym’s screening of “Himalayan Megaquake” from 6 to 9 p.m. at BIMA. Pete Athans, North Face athlete and acclaimed mountaineer, will answer your questions with filmmaker Liesl Clark and talk about his most recent Everest climb.
Saturday, check out Fauna Shade and Tango Alpha Tango at Rolling Bay Hall ($12 here) or Massy Ferguson at Treehouse ($14 here). Non-night owls can have their fun at Carolyn Terry’s artist talk, at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts from 12:20 p.m.
And that’s all folks!
