The photograph which garnered the most awards at the Bainbridge Island Photo Club’s annual Fourth of July exhibition was Dawn Bockus’ “Eagle and Heron in Battle for a Fish.”
In the free public exhibition, held in the downtown Waterfront Park Community Center on Independence Day every year, visitors are given the chance to vote for up to 10 of their favorite photographs.
More than 600 attendees cast nearly 5,000 votes among the 116 prints on display this year, officials said, with Bockus’ collecting the most.
Second place went to “Blue and Gold – Hurricane Ridge” by Pat Egaas and third place was claimed by “Mountain High” by Norm James.
Among typical visitor comments were, officials said, were “Way too many good ones,” “I wish I could buy some of them,” and, “They’re wonderful.”
The BI Photo Club meets on the second Wednesdays from 7 to 9pm at Waterfront Park Community Center. Visitors and potential new members are always welcome. Visit www.biphotoclub.org for more information.
