The BPA Gallery presents the exhibition “Landed” — photography by Tom Ciaburri — in October.
The show opens at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 with artist reception and an enjoyable evening of art and friends.
Ciaburri describes his October photography exhibit in the BPA Gallery as a story about spheres that descend one spring night in the Berkshire Hills. Why they appear is unknown. What they are or do is unknown. “Landed” is about the moment of discovery, the moment when — even if just for a second — absolute belief exists, and everything is possible.
“As a kid, I always dreamed of finding some object, or witnessing an event that would forever transform my life — allowing me to transcend pain, loneliness, and normalcy — a cure-all,” Ciaburri recalls.
“The characters in ‘Landed’ see their own escape within these spheres — and maybe their own true potential.”
The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby and regularly participates in the First Friday Art Walk from 5 to 7 p.m.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus one hour prior to each performance.
Admission is free, and information is available online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206-842-8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Ave. North.
