Bainbridge Performing Arts will hold mainstage band auditions for the 2015-16 season from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 29 as well as from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, July 11.

Those auditioning will be considered for three shows, the iconic rock musical “Hair,” the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure “Mary Poppins” and a special “new family classic” which is still TBA.

Hair, directed by Teresa Thuman, will show on Oct. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25 – with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview on Oct. 8 and Industry Night on Oct. 19.

Rehearsals are 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19 and 26, plus 6 p.m. Oct. 5, 6 and 7.

Available positions available include Reed 1 (Baritone Sax, Flute, Clarinet), Trumpets 1, 2, 3, 4, Trombone, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Sitar, Guitar 1 (Acoustic, Lead electric) and Guitar 2 (Electric, bass).

Mary Poppins, directed by Ken Michels, runs Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20 – with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview Dec. 3 and Industry Night on Dec. 14.

Rehearsals are 9:30 a.m. Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 6 p.m. Nov. 30 as well as Dec. 1 and 2.

Positions available include Bass, Cello, Guitar (electric, acoustic, banjo), Horn 1, 2, Percussion, Keyboards, Reeds 1, 2, 3, 4 (alto recorder, flute, piccolo, Bb and Eb clarinet, oboe, harmonica, Bass clarinet), Trombone 1, 2 (Trombone, tuba, euphonium, bass trombone) and Trumpets 1, 2 (flugelhorn, cornet, trumpet).

The recently announced “new family classic,” (with rights pending), will be directed by Joanna Hardie and is slated to run May 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29 – with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview May 12 and Industry Night on May 23.

Rehearsals are 9:30 a.m. April 23 and 30, plus 6 p.m. May 9, 10 and 11.

Positions available include Bass, Cello, Violins 1, 2, Horn, Drums, Keys 2, 3, 4, Percussion, Reeds 1, 2, 3, 4 and Trumpet (Reeds cover clarinet, saxes, and flute).

Audition requirements include a solo selection of 16 to 32 bars, preferably from musical theatre, for your primary instrument. Doubling and tripling are quite common, so feel free to bring a selection in a secondary instrument as time permits. In addition, when you schedule your appointment you will receive a short selection to present with our provided accompanist.

Each contracted position includes a stipend.
