Ambient/folk artist, Brenda Xu (pronounced “shoo”) has been building a steady following since her arrival on the Seattle music scene a few years ago. The momentum she created with the release of her last album “For The Winter” in 2014 has led to two successful western U.S. tours, and a recent feature in the MTV show “Awkward.” Often compared to artists such as Cat Power, Daughter and Aimee Mann, Xu’s sound has been described as “treading the delicate line between washed-out ambient tones and carefully crafted acoustic arrangements.”

She is currently working on her fourth album and plans to tour the U.S. and Europe this year.

Indie pop four-piece band Tape Stacks released their sophomore EP in August. The album featured the single “Sun Breathing,” a peppy little tune about seasonal affective disorder.

Tape Stacks is comprised of Josh Buser (bass), Layton Hayes, (keys), Mandy Hubbard (drums) and Kara McPhillips (guitar).

The group has played numerous Seattle venues, including The Crocodile, Tractor Tavern and The Sunset since forming in 2012. The past year has seen an increased focus on recording, with their debut EP released in June of 2015, and their second EP, recorded and mixed at the Hall of Justice by Mike Davis, following quickly on its heels this August.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. before an 8 p.m. show that is suitable for all ages. The venue is located at 10598 NE Valley Road.

Tickets, $12 in advance and $15 at the door, can be purchased at www.spacecraftpresents.org.
