Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra will hold the 2019 Young Artist Concerto Competition on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Steinway Piano Gallery (1218 Third Ave., Suite 105, Seattle).
The competition is open to all instruments (instrumental and vocal) for musicians aged 12 to 21.
The winner of the 2018 Young Artist Concerto Competition must be available to perform with the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra on April 13 and April 14, 2019.
The competition application deadline is Friday, Oct. 26 and interested parties are invited to download the application from www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org.
This event is not open to the public and is for competitors only.
Music requirements are: works should be between 5 and 20 minutes in length; acceptable works include a movement from a multi-movement concerto or single movement solo works that meet the time requirements; duos and trios are not permitted; standard repertory works are encouraged, though rental works will be considered provided that applicants are willing to assume the costs of music rental if selected.
All applicants must have their works pre-approved for competition.
