An exhibition celebrating the life and work of the late Elizabeth Reed Smith will be on display at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts in March, with a special opening night reception 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3.
“In my work I seek to convey the clarity, beauty, and simple majesty of the commonplace, otherwise so easily taken for granted,” the artist wrote.
The exhibit will showcase her passion for the natural world coupled with her exacting use of centuries-old techniques: pen and ink, dry-point and copperplate etching, and metal leaf collage.
To further explore the works of Smith, attend the Artists’ Insight event “Reflections on Elizabeth Reed Smith” at BAC at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4.
Join artists Gillian Bull, Pamela Wachtler-Fermanis, Donna Leavitt and Leigh Knowles Metteer for a retrospective talk and reflections on the work of their friend.
BAC is located at 151 Winslow Way East. Visit www.bacart.org for more information.
