Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School has announced open enrollments for the summer session.
The summer session is June 29 through Aug. 1.
“This summer we are taking inspiration from the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss,” said Zandi Carlson, BPA’s director of education. “We believe theatre education provides life-long skills of confidence, collaboration and a joy of learning — all in a fun and supportive environment.”
Led by impassioned and experienced teaching artists, BPA Theatre School provides year-round classes and camps for all ages and experience levels.
This summer, the school will offer two charming creative drama camps for grades K–1: “Oh The Thinks You Can Think,” led by Dana Mitchell and Camella Cooper (June 29-July 3) and “Anything’s Possible!” with Cooper (July 13–17).
Each day’s adventure builds onto an enchanting week-long story that students create and act out.
Julia Beers and Cooper will lead students in grades 1–3 on an enticing musical adventure in “Intro to Musical Theatre: Seuss” (July 27–31). Students will grow in singing, acting and dancing skills through the dramatic and spellbinding world of musical theatre.
Led by Carlson, BPA’s summer production camp for grades 4–10 (July 6–31) offer students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a full production complete with music, choreography and technical support provided by theatre professionals and experienced instructors.
This year’s camp focuses on the hit show “Seussical Jr.,” in which all the Dr.’s best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper featuring numerous solos and fun dances for all levels of experience.
An extra week of class is available for grades 6–10 with the “Intermediate Intensive + Seussical Jr. Production Camp” (June 29-July 3).
This intense week of training gives students the tools to tackle leadership roles in the production of “Seussical Jr.”
These two camps culminate in a fantastical musical extravaganza July 30 through Aug. 1, directed by Carlson, with musical direction by Michelle Abad, and choreography by Heather Dawson.
