Nancy Singleton Hachisu returns to Eagle Harbor Books at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

Hachisu, whose book “Japanese Farm Food” was a sensation several years ago, returns to the Winslow bookstore with her latest gorgeous book, “Preserving the Japanese Way,” for a signing and to share conversation and samples with customers.

Her book introduces Japanese methods of salting, pickling and fermenting that are approachable and easy to integrate into a Western cooking repertoire. Stunning photo-essays reveal the local Japanese communities that support these long-established preservation practices.

Eagle Harbor Books is located at 157 Winslow Way East.
