Flutist Janet See will join with violinist Christine Beckman, violist Laurie Wells and cellist NathanWhittaker in a concert of chamber music by Danzi, Mozart, and Haydn for the next First Sundays Concert.
The program is titled “Music for These Distracted Times.” It will include Mozart’s D Major flute quartet, the sublime Adagio from an 1801 arrangement of the Op. 20 No. 5 string quartet of Haydn, and movements from an 1804 arrangement of Don Giovanni for flute and string trio.
Mozart and Haydn stand at the pinnacle of late 18th and early 19th century classical music. Concert organizers note the clarity, transparency and balance heard in their music is truly a balm for the soul.
The concert takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at Waterfront Park Community Center.
