‘Foreign Friends’ art show opens on First Friday

Mark Fredrichs presents “Foreign Friends,” works of acrylic on canvas, for the November exhibition at the BPA Gallery.

The show opens with a First Friday Art Walk reception at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3.

While living in Mexico for a number of years, Fredrichs picked up a brush to record the vast array of diverse people, places and a few animals that crossed through his world. His years of study in Europe, Asia, America and Mexico are vibrantly reflected is this very colorful display.

For this collection, he drew from his professional history as a psychotherapist, using his trained eye to seek out the character inside and unveil qualities that are rarely revealed on the surface.

Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free.
