Owen Laukkanen will visit Eagle Harbor Book Company to discuss his latest thrill, “Gale Force,” a rousing seafaring yarn set in the north Pacific.

Laukkanen comes from a family of fishermen. His grandfather was a fisherman and boat builder on the Pacific Coast for nearly five decades, his uncle has been a commercial fisherman all his life, his father runs a lobster boat, and the author has spent many months and summers as a deckhand for both his father and uncle.

He is the author of six Stevens and Windermere novels, of which “The Professionals” was nominated for the Barry and International Thriller Writers Awards for Best First Novel, as well as the Spinetingler Magazine Best Novel: New Voices Award.
