Winslow Green will be filled with the sounds of Gypsy jazz when Ranger and the Re-Arrangers host a free concert featuring special guest saxophonist Stephen Vail at 6 p.m. Friday, July 6.
Vail grew up in Port Orchard, traveled the world learning and playing music, and has finally returned home. He earned a masters degree in jazz performance, and in five years with Holland America he performed five hours every day and visited 150 cities in 60 countries. He has a polished sound
and is equally adept playing smooth and sweet or wailing away and swinging hard.
The concert will feature music from Ranger and the Re-Arrangers’ repertoire of swing standards and traditional Gypsy melodies.
