The Bainbridge Island Photo Club will host a free public screening of the Art Wolfe film “Edge of the Earth, Corner of the Sky” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the Waterfront Park Community Center (370 Brien Ave. SE).
Popcorn and drinks will be available, and after the film — which has no dialogue but instead pairs Wolfe’s imagery to soothing music — a second feature will be shown that discusses the featured locations the famed shooter photographed, cameras used, lenses, films, exposures and techniques.
Wolf is a Seattle-born photographer and conservationist best known for color images of landscapes, wildlife, and native cultures. His career has been described as “multi-faceted,” involving wildlife advocacy, art, journalism, and education.
According to William Conway, former president of the Wildlife Conservation Society, Wolfe is a “prolific and sensitive recorder of a rapidly vanishing natural world.”
