Island Center Hall hosts a live swing and jazz dance with the Casey MacGill Trio on Saturday, Sept 20.
Casey MacGill Trio performs music that swings; Nat “King” Cole Trio meets the Mills Brothers, Fats Waller meets Fats Domino, Slim Galliard meets Fred Astaire. At the core of his sound are his band’s sometimes sweet, sometimes rough-hewn three-part harmony vocals and a piano-ukulele-bass-and-drums rhythm section that swings in a variety of textures.
Doors open 7:15 p.m. An East Coast Swing workshop is 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by live music to 11 p.m.
No preregistration or partner is required, and singles and couples, adults and teens are welcome. Wear dressy casual and shoes kind to wood floor. Please bring munchies to share. The event is alcohol and smoke-free.
Admission of $20 at the door includes the pre-dance workshop.
