The BPA Gallery presents “Lost Edges,” acrylic paint on plexiglas by Brian Sostrom, as the March exhibition.
Stop by the BPA Gallery for the First Friday Art Walk for an artist’s reception at 5 p.m. Friday, March 2 and an enjoyable evening of art and friends.
Sostrom’s evocative paintings are heavily inspired by the “beauty of emptiness” and nature.
Sostrum has developed his own unique approach to painting. Working with acrylic and open acrylic paints on a smooth transparent substrate, he paints entirely with transparent acrylics and never uses white, not dissimilar to the approach of a watercolorist.
“The atmospheric images are not intended to communicate a story but rather create an intriguing visual poem,” the artist noted. See his work online at www.briansostrom.com.
The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby and regularly participates in the First Friday Art Walk.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free.
