Celebrated children’s author and illustrator Dav Pilkey, creator of the acclaimed “Captain Underpants” book series, will visit Eagle Harbor Book Company in downtown Winslow this weekend.

Pilkey will stop by the Winslow bookstore at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 to answer questions and sign autographs.

Admission is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available at Eagle Harbor Book Company and Liberty Bay Books.

Priority signing line positions will be given to customers who purchase Pilkey’s books at Eagle Harbor Books or Liberty Bay.

Pilkey has written and illustrated numerous popular, award-winning books for children including the “Captain Underpants” and “Dumb Bunnies” series; “Dog Breath,” winner of the California Young Reader Medal; and “The Paperboy,” a Caldecott Honor Book.

Pilkey has been a Bainbridge Island resident since 1999, and divides his time between home and Minami Izu, Japan.
