A classic will be revisited when John Douglas Marshall comes to Eagle Harbor Book Company at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24 to discuss his 1993-published memoir, “Reconciliation Road: A Family Odyssey.”
In his prize-winning memoir, Marshall recounts a road trip around America in search of the truth about his famous grandfather: General S. L. A. (Slam) Marshall, author of “Pork Chop Hill.”
In the process he comes to terms with his own past and that of others whose families were torn apart by the Vietnam War.

Marshall is a longtime book critic for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has interviewed and profiled many prominent memoir authors.
