The art of Karen Chaussabel will be on display at The Gallery at Grace through the end of March.
Born in France, Chaussabel moved to the United States to attend college in the Pacific Northwest. She subsequently lived in diverse places, ranging from the East Coast, to Canada, Texas. She now makes her home on Bainbridge Island.
She uses alone or combined, ink, encaustic, thread, pencil, tools to make marks. She enjoys having a variety of paper, fibers, for printmaking, encaustic monotype and mixed-media pieces. Nature is very much an initial link for her; it is often this connection that comes into her art experiences and is expressed in her work.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, and by appointment.
