New Year’s exhibition comes to BI gallery

The Roby King Gallery on Bainbridge Island is having a Gala New Year Exhibition Jan. 7-30.

The Gala includes a “Bubbly Wine” reception Friday from 6-8 p.m. Regular hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, closing an hour earlier on Sundays. The gallery is located at 176 Winslow Way.

One of the pieces in the show is called “Girl Laying on Grass” by Jeff Weekley. It is 15 inches by 30 inches and oil on panel.

Looking ahead, from Feb. 4-27 there will be an exhibition on the Human Psyche. Artists will include Helene Wilder, Lynn Brofsky and Peter Juvonen, whose 20 by 16 acrylic on canvas called “Man Walking Dog” will be part of the show.

Another 12 by 9 oil on panel piece called “Sol Explorers” in the show was done by Pam Ingalls.

A gallery news release says, “In this COVID-19 era, we appreciate everyone respecting the masking rules. It has been helpful in allowing us to remain open and the artists to feel safe.”

It continues saying, “We want to be a Super Art Gallery not a Super Spreader.” Artwork by Wilder reminds everyone to vaccinate and stay safe.
