The Bainbridge Island Review’s frog came home to the newspaper office Wednesday, Aug. 28, for a brief pit stop before making its way to its final destination: the Seattle ferry terminal.

The appropriately themed “Clark Kent Frog” can be seen in the ground floor lobby in the 911 Hildebrand Lane building, pending arrangements for its final move to the big city, where it will remain on display at the ferry terminal building near the Bainbridge boarding side.

The frog is one of 36 uniquely decorated frog sculptures prepared by 50 different artists scattered around downtown Bainbridge and beyond. Each frog, made possible through the work of a different sponsor and artist team, celebrates the spirit of our community and its talented artists and socially minded local businesses.

The community art project was organized by the members of the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association (BIDA), and was originally unveiled to the public during the Grand Ole Fourth of July celebration this year. The frogs will remain on display until September 2014, at which time they will be auctioned off as part of a BIDA fundraiser.
